One of the most exciting parts about moving is getting to live in a city or town that excites you. Few things are more fun that exploring your chosen home upon move-in.

To help, we’ve compiled some top spots for communities around Minnesota. First stop, our AAT headquarters location – Blaine.

So, once the furniture is set up and the boxes are unpacked head out to some of these great spots.

National Sports Center

The National Sports Center in Blaine is a nonprofit organization that was built to help amplify amateur sports in the state of Minnesota.

The 600-acre, multi-sport complex is home to Victory Links Golf Course, the eight-sheet Super Rink, 250-meter Velodrome, 52 athletic fields and a 150-bed residence hall. It hosts 300 events, including the USA Cup, and welcomes four million visitors annually.

From open playtime to league sports to camps to tournaments, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Victory Links Golf Course

Why not hit the links?

Located at the National Sports Center, this 18-hole golf course is also home to the PGA Tour’s 3M Open Qualifier. Guests can play the course, join leagues or get lessons.

Glow In One Mini Golf

Not a fan of regular golf? Try the mini version!

Glow In One in an 18-hole, indoor mini golf course designed for all ages. The theme, Hazard Island, is inspired by South America and utilizes intriguing sets for challenging holes and blacklights for extra effect.

Four Seasons Curling

Skip golf and try the other Scottish sport – curling.

Whether you want to learn a new hobby, or are already a seasoned curler, the Four Seasons Curling Club is the spot. Their ice is open to members and non-members alike, with options to join leagues as well. There are open bonspiels every year, as well as international bonspiels to observe.

Fun Lab

For more family fun, that’s not sports related, check out the Fun Lab.

Created by husband and wife team, Jim and Marilyn Webber, the Fun Lab is 22,500 square feet of activities and games. From laser tag to ropes courses to bowling to bumper cars, there is something for everyone. There is also food, so you can make a day of it!

Lakeside Commons Park

Perhaps your family is more of an outdoor gang. If so, check out Lakeside Commons Park!

Perfect for a summer afternoon, Lakeside Commons Park has a free public peach, splash pad, boathouse and canoe and kayak rental. Of course, if you’d prefer to stay out of the water there’s a playground, volleyball courts and rentable pavilion.

This year, they’ve also added Chess pieces to check out at the boathouse.

East Anoka County Regional Trail

Truly explore the city of Blaine by taking a hike along the East Anoka County Regional Trail.

The East Anoka County Regional Trail connects Anoka County from north to south. The end of the trail is in Blaine, which means hikers will travel north. In total, the trail is 27 miles but there are several easy places to stop and turn around along the way.

Invictus Brewing Company

For the adults, grab a beverage at Invictus Brewing Company.

Like other breweries in the state, Invictus Brewing Company grew out of home brewing hobby. Homebrewers Previn Solberg and Troy Wolter teamed up to open the spot, right across the street from the National Sports Complex. Kids are welcome at the brewery, but you must be 21+ to enjoy an adult beverage. The Tipsy Steer offers food onsite.
